I had a read a review else ware on a number of sidewall planners and this one came up as the most economical and easiest to use. I found this a great tool and once you get the hang of using it this side planner does a great job. Tip, on the product card instructions you should show that the tool is running on the Base side of the ski and on top of the edge. Adjust the cutting tool so that it just cuts the sidewall bevel against the metal edge of the ski and not cutting the edge. It can cut the edge and that is not desirable. I marked with a Black magic marker which way CW or CCW to turn the screws for the correct direction of the cutting wheel and cutting depth as will as which direction the tool should be pushed along the ski. Makes a nice little spiral twisted plastic waste stream which is easy to clean up rather than leaving a lot of small pieces of plastic to clean up. I highly recommend this tool. I am an experienced ski tuner in sharping and polishing edges as well as waxing my own skis. The cost of skis today should make one want to maintain their own equipment for the best performance and life of your skis. Your sking experience will be that much more enjoyable. A ceramic 1200 Grit stone with the proper edge guide angle make for the best performing tuned edge and takes next to nothing off the edge for a good polished edge and closing the pores of the metal to reduce the chance of rust.
